Steve Price in the dark with his side’s sinbinnings as injury concerns mount

Steve Price was proud of his side’s efforts despite coming up short against St Helens in a 24-14 defeat.

The Warrington head coach was “proud” of the way his side took the game to Saints, but knows his players need to improve as Super League heads to towards the business end of the season.

“I thought it was a tough game, I’m proud of the boys it was very tough out there,” Price said.

“St Helens started really well both halves and I thought we did really well to get back into the game.

“We need to look at a few things we can do better but I’m proud of the effort.

“We haven’t had a tough high intensity game like that for a long time so I’m hoping it will put us in good stead for the future.”

Price did confirm a few injury concerns.

“Mike Cooper has a lower leg injury from last week’s game so that’s why he didn’t play.

“Hopefully we will get Josh Charnley back next week and we will see where Blake Austin is too.

“Jack Hughes has a bit of a bang around his forearm and wrist – he will get a scan, but for him to come off it must be bad because he’s a tough guy.”

The Warrington boss did, however remain coy on the sinbinnings that were handed out during the 80 minutes.

“I would have to look back on them, it all happened pretty quick.

“I couldn’t really see too much from where I was sitting.”
