Steve Price left Warrington Wolves in a bitterly disappointed mood following their 19-0 loss to Hull KR at the Halliwell Jones Stadium tonight.

For the fourth season in a row, Price has failed to take the Wolves to the Grand Final and his post-match interview could not have been harder to listen to.

“They out-enthused us they had high energy and our error rate was atrocious – we had 21 errors out there and it was hugely disappointing,” Price said.

“I could sense it, we had a couple of good ball sets, we knew they would come to the game and try and spoil but our ball control and discipline wasn’t good enough.

“I thought Hull KR were fantastic tonight, but it’s not the standards we expect for ourselves.”

Price added: “We didn’t underestimate Hull KR at all and every team we play we have a huge amount of respect for.

“We’ve underachieved, that performance was unacceptable, it just wasn’t good enough.”
