‘Stay out of my lane’ – Castleford Tigers forward makes defiant statement ahead of new season

Castleford Tigers are gearing up for a completely new era under head coach Lee Radford.

After over eight seasons under the tutelage of Daryl Powell, the West Yorkshire club now find themselves managed by former Hull FC boss Radford.

For one Castleford forward, he has a lot to thank Powell for after the ex-Featherstone Rovers boss brought him to the club back in 2020.

That man is Tyla Hepi who has since registered 14 appearances for the Tigers following stints in the Championship with Toulouse Olympique and Whitehaven.

Now, though, he has to impress Radford after signing a new two-year deal during the 2021 Super League season.

And, he made a defiant statement on his Instagram that he is more than ready for doing just that.

Hepi referenced Castleford’s 20-10 victory over St Helens back in August of last season which was the Tigers’ first win away at Saints for 29 years.

The video showed teammate Greg Eden running the full length of the field to score an interception try, whilst 28-year-old Hepi was cheering madly from the sidelines.

Hepi stated: “This is the only energy I’m with in 2022 💯👌🏽❤️

“If you ain’t with it – stay out my lane 👊🏽😤🤷🏼‍♂️

“What a game that was maaaayn @suaiamatagi bringing the enoooo too 🔥 @gregeden1 can finish em 👏🏽 #WildingOut
