Stars sweating ahead of Super League disciplinary decisions

After Round 23’s games, players are awaiting Super League disciplinary decisions, with key names sweating.

The Match Review Panel are meeting today to make decisions on both players that received cards, and those that got away with chargeable offences at the time.

Friday night saw Hull KR go further ahead of Warrington Wolves as they beat Salford Red Devils while Wire lost to Leigh Leopards.

Warrington’s defeat was after a red card to Paul Vaughan, whose tackle on Owen Trout early in the game saw him dismissed after being deemed to have no mitigation.

However, Leopards man Jack Hughes was both sin-binned and placed on report for two separate offences, meaning he joins Vaughan in worrying about the Panel’s decisions today.

On Saturday, Castleford Tigers defeated Hull FC and Wigan Warriors consigned Catalans Dragons to dropping out of the top six.

The Tigers’ win came following three yellow cards over the 80 minutes. Sylvester Namo’s late hit was misjudged, and he may worry – as could Liam Horne, who was given a yellow for a high shot on Tom Briscoe.

Meanwhile, Yusuf Aydin’s own high shot could mean the Hull FC man faces a charge too.

Sunday’s game at Plough Lane didn’t see much disciplinary drama, as Leeds Rhinos beat London Broncos in a low-quality affair after golden point extra-time.

However, St Helens’ win over Huddersfield Giants was rocked by a red card to Fenton Rogers for a high shot on Tee Ritson, meaning the Giants man will certainly be sweating the latest round of Super League disciplinary decisions.
