After almost a year long saga, Catalans Dragons this year announced the signing of Siosiua Taukeiaho from NRL giants Sydney Roosters.
Super League fans had a taster of what the big prop can bring to the Dragons in 2023 as he starred for Tonga in the Rugby League World Cup with brilliant performances at St Helens’ Totally Wicked Stadium and Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium.
Whilst shining in the tournament, he has also been preparing for his boxing debut on the undercard of former Cronulla Sharks star Paul Gallen’s rematch with Justin Hodges which will take place before he makes the move to Super League.
There were plenty of questions over who his opponent would be with it seeming like no one wanted to take on the big prop seen as the heir to Gallen in the crossover world of rugby league and boxing.
However, a fellow World Cup star is now set to take him on.
According to Fox League, Samoa skipper Junior Paulo who guided his country to the final against Australia is set to fight against the new Catalans Dragons star.
Paulo made headlines with a couple of incident avoiding a ban going into the semi-finals of the World Cup through appeal before he avoided a ban going into the final despite a dangerous tackle on England star Tom Burgess.
It is said that discussions are underway in arranging a fight between the two.
