Star player returns but Super League side still unable to name 21 players

It’s Easter and thus it is rivals round.

After the drama of Good Friday, for the second time this season Leigh Leopards battle with Salford Red Devils in one of six games shown live on Sky Sports.

The squad news is now in for this derby between two teams who started the season against each other with Salford Red Devils defeating the Leopards on their debut.

Leigh have of course lost Gareth O’Brien to a failed Head Injury Assessment.

Umyla Hanley comes into the squad and could be an option to replace O’Brien at fullback.

However, it may be more likely that Zak Hardaker moves to fullback with Ed Chamberlain at centre.

As for Salford, they are still unable to name a 21-man squad.

This time they have a 20-man squad with Joe Burgess named after a rib injury against Huddersfield Giants last week.

Andy Ackers is also back in a huge boost for the Red Devils.

Ryan Lannon’s departure to Featherstone Rovers of course means he is not named in the squad.

Both sides come into the game after defeats.

Leigh lost the Battle of the Borough 34-6 to Wigan Warriors despite leading 6-0 early on.

Perhaps the loss of O’Brien was key and it could be again this week.

Salford meanwhile came up short against Ian Watson’s Huddersfield.
