Star charged with assault over nightclub incident

Canberra Raiders star Curtis Scott has been charged with assault over an alleged incident at a nightclub earlier this year.

It follows a long-running saga in which Scott was suspended by the NRL for three games as well as being fined $15,000 for “bringing the league into disrepute” after CCTV footage emerged of the Raiders man punching another male back in May.

But, the police have now confirmed that Scott has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

It perhaps comes as little shock that Canberra have been trying to offload the 23-year-old since the alleged victim went to the police back in June, with Wests Tigers apparently leading the race for him until they backed out.

Scott will face court over the alleged assault later in August, but he hasn’t played for the Raiders since being stood down after footage of the incident at the Kokomo nightclub in Sydney surfaced.
