Star almost in tears on live television following news that club wants him out

Rugby League mistake

Brisbane star Tevita Pangai Jr claims he has no idea that the club were going to get ready for him in a tearful moment live on Channel 9.

The Australian reported the news at the same time Pangai took to the field for the Broncos against the Rabbitohs, with the report stating that the forward “may have played his last game for Brisbane” after the club gave him permission to look elsewhere

The news still seemed pretty raw when Pangai Jnr spoke to Channel 9 following his sides loss.

“Right now I’m on contract for this year and next year but they got me in on my day off and told me I’m free to look elsewhere,” Pangai said.

“Players have got to be accountable for the results we’ve been tossing up so if that’s me, I’ll have to look elsewhere. I’ll take it day by day, week by week, and see where my future is.

“We’ve got one game in the next three weeks so I’d love to get my future sorted in the next three weeks. I haven’t thought about (where I might go).

“I thought I was on contract but contracts don’t mean much these days. I’ve got to cop it on the chin and get my manager to do his job.”
