St Helens vs Wigan Warriors: Kick-off time, TV channel and predicted line-ups

There is perhaps no game as big as this one at the moment as Saints and Wigan meet in a massive derby in a top of the table clash.

The top two teams in the league will be vying for top spot in this derby and will also be looking to lay down the first marker in the quest for silverware in 2022 with the two set for a semi-final clash in less than a month.

Will the Champions prove too good once again or will Wigan’s flashy attack cause them troubles.

Kick-off time and TV channel

The game kicks off at 15:00.

TV coverage starts at 14:30 on Sky Sports Main Event and Arena.

Predicted Line-ups

St Helens
Why change a winning team? That logic is exactly why most of the Saints team will remain the same with the only major change coming in the backrow. Sione Mata’utia is still injured after his superb start to the season and now Curtis Sironen is suspended leaving Kristian Woolf to find someone to figure alongside Joe Batchelor. The last time he was faced with this issue, he moved Morgan Knowles to the backrow which we could again see here with Jake Wingfield moving to 13.

Wigan Warriors
Unlike Woolf, Matt Peet doesn’t have the luxury to keep his side mostly together with Iain Thornley out injured and Zak Hardaker dropped. This leaves questions over who Peet will name along the backline. We could see John Bateman return to the centres and one of Sam Halsall and Abbas Miski figure alongside Jake Bibby. It may be Halsall after he was recalled to the squad last week ahead of the Challenge Cup quarter-final.
