St Helens vs Wigan Warriors: 21-man squads, injury news, kick-off time & TV details

Wigan meet their bitterest of rivals on Saturday afternoon, with the opportunity to go level on points at the top of the table now doubt giving them extra incentive.

St Helens suffered defeat in the South of France last week, as they lost 20-18 to Catalans despite a strong start to the game. Maintaining their reign at the top of the table will be even more important given their opponents, and they will be desperate to make a statement on such a big stage.

For Wigan, they will be hoping for more of the same. They have looked unstoppable since their Challenge Cup win, but the league leaders will be their toughest test in weeks. They came out on top last time out against St Helens, so will feel more than capable of downing their rivals.

Injury news

Tommy Makinson is set to be out for up to five weeks with a hamstring injury, and given that they were already low on outside backs, it’s a huge blow. However, Will Hopoate and Konrad Hurrell come into the squad after missing last week’s game.

For Wigan, Thomas Leuluai is expected to spend at least six weeks on the side-lines after suffering a tear in his calf, but is likely to be replaced by Cade Cust, who is fit to return.

Kick-off time and TV details

The game will kick off at 16:45 on Saturday, and will be available to watch on Sky Sports Mix
