St Helens vs Leeds Rhinos Super League Grand Final: Kick-off time and TV channel

For the 25th time in its 27th season, the Super League season concludes in a Grand Final to crown the Champions of 2022.

For the 24th time, this final is set to take place at the Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford, a patch of grass on which tonight dreams will be made or could turn into nightmares.

This particular instalment in Grand Final history sees two old foes meet once again 11 years on from their last Grand Final encounter.

The two most successful sides of the summer era, the two clubs who have defined the Super League meet for a record fifth time in the Grand Final.

Remarkably, St Helens and Leeds meet with eight Grand Final wins to their name meaning the winner will become the outright most successful team in Grand Finals with a win.

Meanwhile St Helens can claim a 10th title in all with a triumph having won the 1996 Super League title via finishing top. This would further extend their record but a win for Leeds would see them equal it.

The Rhinos are in their 11th Grand Final having only lost two of the previous 10 whilst St Helens extend their own record with a 14th Grand Final appearance.

Speaking of records, Saints are chasing an unprecedented fourth consecutive title which would topple the record set by Leeds in 2009 with three Grand Final wins in a row at St Helens’ expense.

As for Leeds, they’re looking to defy the odds and win a third Grand Final from fifth in the league. They were second bottom in April and are now just 80 minutes away from being crowned Champions under new boss Rohan Smith.

Speaking of coaches, this will be Kristian Woolf’s final game in charge of the Saints. Can he become the first coach to win three consecutive Grand Finals?

And more importantly, when and where can we watch the Grand Final?

Kick-off time

The game kicks off at 6pm at Old Trafford tonight as per usual.

TV Channels

Sky Sports’ live coverage will start at 5pm on Sky Sports Arena and Sky Sports Main Event.

Meanwhile BBC will show highlights in the traditional Match of the Day slot from 10:50pm tonight.

Channel 4 will not be showing the game this weekend but they will showing it come October 1st at 11:30 am.
