Today’s rugby sees too sides at opposite ends of the table clash. Champions St Helens have won 3 from 3 to start the season. They’ve often had that champion-like grip on contests and look like the team to beat in 2021. Wakefield on the other hand have yet to win. They’re struggling for form and fit bodies at the moment.
St Helens are still without Morgan Knowles and he’ll be joined by Matty Lees and Sione Mata’utia who were the two casualties in the pack during their cup clash with Leeds. There could be a return for Mark Percival. However, whilst Jack Welsby is in great form, I don’t see any need for Saints to rush Percival back. Aaron Smith will likely return to the bench after missing last week’s game due to concussion protocols.
Wakefield are much worse on the injury front. They’re without 3 of the backline who started against Catalans in the cup on Saturday. Max Jowitt and Tom Johnstone are both unavailable due to concussion. Meanwhile, Matty Ashurst and Bill Tupou will also be missing through injury. Kelepi Tanginoa is suspended. However, both Kyle Wood and Eddie Battye could return following calf problems.
