St Helens v Salford: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

Salford have competed in almost every game they’ve played this season including last week’s Challenge Cup quarter-final. The Red Devils will put up a good fight again against the Super League Champions who, despite their perfect start, haven’t looked like their potent selves in recent weeks.

The Saints are without Tommy Makinson who last week aggravated his foot injury. He joins James Bentley, Matty Lees and Jake Wingfield in the treatment room. They could bring Josh Simm back into the fold having re-called him from his loan spell at Leigh. However, it’s more likely that Jack Welsby will return to the centres.

As for Salford, given their valiant effort last week against Castleford I expect very few changes to the Red Devils’ line-up. The likes of Krisnan Inu, Josh Johnson, Jack Wells and Joe Burgess will all be absent. On the other hand, Andy Ackers and Morgan Escare could return but will have to budge Dan Sarginson and Danny Addy out of their positions.
