St Helens v Huddersfield: Predicted line-ups and late injury news

In a repeat of the 2006 Challenge Cup Final, St Helens do battle with Huddersfield Giants at Headingley with a place in the final four of the competition up for grabs. For the Saints it’s a massive game as they look to end a 13 year wait for the trophy. Meanwhile the Giants are looking to build on last week’s first league win of the season.

For St Helens there’s major changes in the pack. Both Jake Wingfield and James Bentley are absent through injury – Bentley because of a nasty broken leg – whilst Matty Lees also remains on the side lines through a leg injury. However, Joel Thompson could be set for a return as could Morgan Knowles. The loose-forward is ready to make his first appearance of the season. Also set to return is Tommy Makinson throwing questions over how the St Helens backline will line up.

Huddersfield also have the right kind of selection headaches with Leroy Cudjoe’s likely return allowing Chris McQueen to move into the pack. However, the Giants are still without both Wardle brothers Jake and Joe as well as fullback Ashton Golding.
