St Helens set for fifth new signing

Give credit where credit is due, the St Helens media know how to attract positive attention.

After doing an in-depth interview with head coach Kristian Woolf about how each new signing will bring something different to the club, Saints posted this on their Twitter account:

This of course sent social media – and Saints fans in particular – into a frenzy about who the question mark could be.

Many have tipped it to be Tongan powerhouse centre Konrad Hurrell after his Leeds departure was confirmed, with Saints still possessing a quota spot following a number of departures.

Woolf hailed all those that were set to leave.

“They are all going to be missed in their own way, some guys have been really big contributors in the field,” Woolf said.

“You talk about your Lachlan Coote, Kev Naiqama, Theo Fages and James Bentley and those guys have been terrific contributors on the field and I can’t thank them enough for what they’ve given to this team and to this club. t

“They’ve been outstanding to work with.”

The Saints boss also kind words for two outgoing players that perhaps haven’t played as much as they would have liked in 2021.

“Joel Thompson has been here for 12 months and he hasn’t finished the way he would like to, but he’s still been a big part of our team both and on and off the field.

“Josh Eaves, while he hasn’t played a lot of games, he’s St Helens born and bred and whatever opportunity he got on the field he was so proud to take it.”
