St Helens star out for rest of season after ACL injury horror

St Helens’ Matty Foster will be out for the rest of the season after needing surgery on an ACL injury.

Foster has done it tough with injuries in Super League this year, breaking his jaw whilst on loan at Leigh and now has a horrific ACL injury to contend with.

Head Coach Kristian Woolf said: “It is unfortunate for Matty and he will need a fairly extensive recovery from surgery. He has had such a tough year.”

“Unfortunately, in trying to get him games he has had an extended period out with a broken jaw and now this injury.

“He has had a really tough year and our team are really going to rally behind him and make sure he gets support.

“He is a really good kid, too, who cares about his footy and his position at the club and wants to improve.

“He is a bloke you want to see have success for those reasons.

“Hopefully he can get a good run after this and be injury free for a little while because he has a lot of potential.”
