St Helens set to announce player deals as Kristian Woolf addresses his future

St Helens are set to announce player deals in the next few weeks, according to head coach Kristian Woolf.

Saints have a number of stars coming off contract at the end of the 2022 Super League season including the likes of Konrad Hurrell and James Roby.

However, Woolf has revealed that announcements on a number of stars are imminent.

“There has certainly been some movement on retention in particular,” Woolf told the St Helens Star.

“Our confidence in the squad – an extremely strong one from 1-30 – is one we are happy to have in terms of what to work with, knowing we have good people involved in terms of people and players.

“We have worked hard over the past few weeks to make sure we retained those players and a number have been done without announcements being made

“The next couple of weeks would be a good opportunity to announce some of those.”

Speculation has also been mounting that Woolf could be heading back to the NRL for 2023 and beyond, but the Australian is keen to focus on Saints: “It is not something that is cemented just yet,” Woolf added.

“My commitment is 100 per cent in St Helens and what we are doing here.
