The Saints lost Regan Grace and Curtis Sironen to injuries in the defeat to Salford Red Devils at the weekend.

Kristian Woolf’s men have also been without the likes of Will Hopoate, Tommy Makinson and Mark Percival in recent weeks whilst Sione Mata’utia will serve the final match of his three game suspension on Sunday and Lewis Dodd is out for the season.

The growing absentee list means the boss has recalled Royle from his initial two week loan with Hull KR and is expected to be named in Saints 21 man squad ahead of the club’s clash with Castleford Tigers live on Channel 4 this Sunday (1pm) back at home.

Royle had impressed whilst on loan with the Robins who themselves are going through a major injury crisis.

It’s perhaps one of the worst injury crises at any Super League club perhaps in the modern era with Hull KR having as many as 16 players out against Wigan last week.

And, to make matters worse, Will Dagger, Lachlan Coote, Charlie Cavanaugh and Connor Moore all suffered injuries in that loss too. However, Danny McGuire could welcome back Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Frankie Halton, Albert Vete, Jimmy Keinhorst and Korbin Sims for the fixture against Toulouse Olympique this weekend.
