St Helens have confirmed the signing of North Queensland Cowboys winger Kyle Feldt for the 2025 and 2026 seasons meaning that the club’s overseas quota situation has changed again.
Feldt will end his 12-year stay with the Cowboys and make the switch to Super League next season, becoming the second NRL star to commit to the Red Vee for 2025.
He’ll join Brisbane Broncos playmaker Tristan Sailor in playing at The Totally Wicked Stadium from 2025 with both men signing two-year contracts with St Helens.
They will replace half-back Lewis Dodd and winger Tommy Makinson who are heading to South Sydney Rabbitohs and Catalans Dragons respectively in a major change-up for Paul Wellens’ side.
Their arrivals also mean that two of the club’s current overseas quota players will have to leave with St Helens’ quota situation an intriguing one for the 2025 Super League season.
We’ve assessed how St Helens’ overseas stars could stack up in 2025 and what their contract situations are.
St Helens quota situation for 2025

Currently, only one overseas player is set to see their contract definitely expire at the end of the 2204 season with that man being Fijian winger/centre Waqa Blake.
Blake penned a one-year deal with St Helens ahead of the current campaign and it’s fair to say he’s had a mixed season, often being the club’s strongest attacking outlet in terms of tries but having also struggled defensively.
As it stands, Blake will not be at the club for 2025 and two other overseas players could follow him as both Konrad Hurrell and Sione Mata’utia will have decisions made on their future.
Both men see their contract expire after 2024 with an option to extend for 2025 but it’s down to the club to trigger that option.
The pair have suffered serious injuries in the current season with Hurrell still missing and likely not set to return, whilst Mata’utia has only just returned to action in Round 23 after being absent since June.
That leaves four current overseas Saints player confirmed as playing in 2025 in Curtis Sironen, Agnatius Paasi, James Bell and Moses Mbye.
Tristan Sailor and Kyle Feldt will also join them meaning that at least one of Hurrell or Mata’utia will not have their deal renewed to avoid Saints breaching their seven available spots.
Recruitment for St Helens will now likely be limited to UK and French players given their quota situation, although if they allow both Hurrell and Mata’utia to leave then they will have one available spot.
