A member of non-playing staff at St Helens has tested positive for Covid-19, Super League have confirmed.
The positive result was returned as part of the latest round of testing and has seen the club postpone all training activity for today (Wednesday).
Saints and the RFL will now work to carry out Test and Trace procedures with the member of staff, who will now be retested having not shown any symptoms of coronavirus.
There is also the possibility that St Helens’ squad will be retested later this week.
Castleford, who played Saints last Sunday, have also been informed of the positive test but will not yet self-isolate under the rugby league’s Test and Trace agreement with Public Health England.
The news comes just a week after nine Hull FC players and three members of their backroom staff tested positive after the first full round of restart fixtures.
