St Helens have allowed Konrad Hurrell to spend another two weeks with Championship high flyers Bradford Bulls. Hurrell is coming to the end of his initial loan with the Bulls, but that deal has been extended to ensure he will be with Brian Noble’s side for the next fortnight.
The centre has made two appearances for the club so far, with appearances coming against York Knights and Batley Bulldogs. He has looked the part in both contests, too, by all accounts, laying on tries for winger Guy Armitage.
However, he will now be sticking around at Odsal to take in games with Barrow Raiders and Hunslet.
It means he’ll have to wait at least another two weeks before returning to St Helens, where he is yet to make a Super League appearance this season. Hurrell has made just one outing in the Red V all year and that came in the Challenge Cup win over West Hull back in February.
In the time that has passed since he has also spent time on loan at Halifax Panthers and Swinton Lions. He’ll be determined to impress over the next two weeks then and with his contract at the Totally Wicked Stadium expiring, his next steps will certainly be on his mind.
The extension comes with Bradford confirming that Bayley Liu and Kieran Gill have joined Batley Bulldogs on a short-term loan. The pair will spend the next two weeks with the Bulldogs, alongside fellow Bulls loanee Jacob Bateman.
Both Liu and Gill have missed game time through injury lately and the loan has been designed to give them minutes as they move towards the end of their rehabilitation periods.
Bradford Bulls and ex-Hull KR man out for season
Bradford have also confirmed that former Hull KR and Leeds Rhinos man James Donaldson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season. Donaldson sustained an ACL injury in the clash against Doncaster earlier this month and won’t feature again until next season.
“We’re all obviously incredibly disappointed for Donno,” Noble said. “He has shown great commitment to making a difference to us since returning and had done so in the time he has spent on the field.
“Ultimately his 2025 season is now over, however, we know just how valuable James is to our group and he will remain a key part of our group for the remainder of the year.”
