St Helens link up with former Premier League striker

St Helens and The Turmeric Co. have announced an 18-month partnership, which will see The Turmeric Co. support the rugby league side with their recovery after matches and training sessions.

The shots, developed by former West Brom and Wales striker Thomas Hal Robson-Kanu, will be taken daily by the St Helens squad, and becomes The Turmeric Co.’s second rugby league club partner, having announced a deal with Salford Red Devils earlier in 2021.

The Turmeric Co. produces a unique range of delicious turmeric shots developed over a decade, and, as a result of this partnership, will be providing the club’s first team players with a combination of nature’s most powerful fresh ingredients.

The Turmeric Co. is the UK’s leading producer of naturally produced turmeric shots, which are used by a number of professional football clubs including Swansea City, Luton Town, Rotherham United, Northampton Town and Plymouth Argyle as well as elite rugby union sides such as Leicester Tigers and Sale Sharks and even British Gymnastics, to enhance their recovery and holistic health.

Alex Walmsley has recently become an ambassador for The Turmeric Co. and has already seen the benefits of using their product: “I have been using these shots for about two months now and they have been hugely beneficial.

“They help with my inflammation, especially coming off my off-season knee surgery. These shots really helped with my recovery and I can’t recommend them highly enough.”

Saints’ Head of Strength and Conditioning, Matt Daniels is delighted to have secured their support for the squad: “The inclusion of this highly regarded product as part of the team’s performance programme will be great addition. The range of Turmeric Co. Shots will be used for both preparation and recovery of the playing squad.

“The movement and contact demands of our game means that the powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties of the shots will assist players through a very busy fixture schedule.”

Simon Harris, Commercial Director at The Turmeric Co. added: “St Helens is a team that is recognised globally, being one of the most successful rugby league teams in the history of the sport, so we are delighted to add them to our growing list of partners. We’ve seen that rugby league players are really benefitting from the shots across all areas of their game.

About The Turmeric Co

Founded by Premier League footballer, Thomas Robson-Kanu, The Turmeric Co. offers great tasting and potent vegan turmeric shots: Raw Turmeric Original, Raw Turmeric & Ginger and Raw Turmeric & Beetroot.

Developed over 15 years and endorsed by leading nutritionists, The Turmeric Co. deliver great tasting shots designed to boost anyone’s daily routine and support individuals who are on their wellness journey. Providing a powerful combination of functional and natural ingredients, they boast the strongest measure of raw turmeric available on the market (35g).

Turmeric contains the active ingredient curcumin, scientifically proven to have anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anti-depressant properties, as well as helping with weight management and improving skin conditions.

The natural and convenient shots contain zero added sugar or preservatives, come freshly chilled and can be drunk alone or incorporated into food and drink such as breakfast smoothie bowls or in tea with hot water and honey.

Unlike other turmeric shots on the market, The Turmeric Co. shots use fresh watermelon as a base, selected for its influential polyphenol and low sugar profile, rather than low functional juices with a high sugar content such as apple and orange juice. The shots also contain flax oil, which aids absorption of the following functional ingredients and only 4.5g of sugar, the lowest on the market.

Sustainability is at the heart of The Turmeric Co’s ethos, demonstrated by ethically sourced ingredients which support local agro-entrepreneurs. All three shots are bottled in fully recyclable, eco-friendly packaging, all of which can be returned with a pre-paid label to The Turmeric Co. for responsible recycling.
