St Helens legend Paul Sculthorpe identifies Hull FC’s Jake Connor weaknesses

Jake Connor is an absolute maverick – everyone knows that.

He can turn a game on its head within an instant and do the flashy, skilful things that everyone sees.

But, St Helens legend Paul Sculthorpe believes that Connor can do a lot more.

In the Sky Sports preview of Hull FC’s away fixture at Hull KR in the lunchtime Hull derby, Sculthorpe called on the Black and Whites talent to help more on the field.

“We all know Jake Connor can do the shiny things – he is an outstandingly talented player, but he needs to do more of it.

“He needs to do the unsung things – the push up with the forwards and defensively he needs to be better.”

Meanwhile, Hull FC head coach Brett Hodgson has made a key decision on Josh Reynolds and Carlos Tuimavave.

Reynolds started on the bench in last week’s Challenge Cup defeat to Huddersfield Giants whilst Tuimavave didn’t play at all due to a persistent niggle.

However, both Reynolds and Tuimavave have been named in Hodgson’s 17-man side for their derby clash with Hull KR at Craven Park.

Brad Fash also starts at prop, with Chris Satae and Jack Brown dropping down to the bench.

The pair replace Jordan Johnstone and Mitieli Vulikijapani in the match day squad.
