St Helens legend Jon Wilkin calls for Samoa star’s ban to be overturned & has big warning for Shaun Wane’s England

Junior Paulo, Samoa skipper, is set to miss out on his country’s first ever Rugby League World Cup semi-final as they prepare for a clash against England at the Emirates Stadium.

This is because he copped a one-match ban for striking against Tonga at Warrington Wolves’ Halliwell Jones Stadium.

Tonight he will appeal the decision and talking to Sky Sports St Helens legend has called for the ban to be overturned as he gave a warning for Shaun Wane’s England side: “He’s such a big man, he’s so powerful, he leads from the front.

In terms of the physical challenge to England, if he’s missing, that’s just a massive bonus for England.

“Let’s not forget how England dispatched Samoa in the first week of the tournament and you can’t help but think that this adds to the psychology of a semi-final against a team you pumped four weeks ago.

“I think that a big trap for England is expecting Samoa to play anywhere near that level, they’re mad because it just won’t be a game like that.

“I think it should be overturned let him play, I’m contradicting myself because I always say they shouldn’t get overturned but yeah get him in there.”
