St Helens will be without wingers Kyle Feldt and Owen Dagnall when they go to Hull KR on Friday night.
Paul Wellens’ side travel with the knowledge that a win over the league leaders would be enough to carry them back into Super League’s top two for 24 hours at least.
However, they must make the trip to east Hull without their first choice wing pairing of Dagnall and Feldt, who both picked up injuries in the win over Hull FC last Friday. Dagnall went down late in the game with a hamstring complaint before being helped off the field and it has now been confirmed that he has torn the muscle.
As such, while he probably won’t need surgery, there’s a chance he could miss the rest of the Super League season.
Feldt, on the other hand, failed a head injury assessment after last week’s contest and will be forced to sit the contest out as well.
Fortunately for St Helens, Deon Cross is fit again and could be ready to make his return, while it seems fair to assume that Tristan Sailor could be the man chosen to step out onto the other side.

St Helens confirmed the news on their official site with Wellens making comments to the St Helens Star. On Dagnall, he said: “[It’s] going to mean he will be touch and go for the back end of the season.
“It is a massive disappointment because Owen, since he has come into the team and played regularly, has done a fantastic job for us. He is certainly a player everyone enjoys watching, and is an exciting player, but he has had an unfortunate blow there.”
He added: “[Feldt] took a bang early on in the game but did not feel any ill effects, but after the game he reported feeling unwell and having a headache to the doctor.
“He then failed his SCAT 6 head assessment so we then follow the 11-day concussion protocol, so we will be without Kyle as well.”
