St Helens 18-34 Wakefield Trinity: Match report

NRL

St Helens took on Wakefield Trinity at the Totally Wicked Stadium this afternoon.

Wakefield hit first through Corey Hall before Ben Davies levelled the scores. However, two Lewis Murphy tries sent Trinity into a 14-6 lead.

And, that was extended to 24-6 when Murphy grabbed a sensational hat-trick whilst Max Jowitt dotted down moments later.

Lee Gaskell crossed first for Trinity after the break, but Davies hit back for his second of the afternoon with a well-taken effort to bring Saints back to within 18.

Jon Bennison reduced that deficit to 12 eight minutes from the end, but Murphy grabbed his fourth of the afternoon to round off the scoring at 34-18.
