Squads named for Hull derby clash with huge boost for Hull KR

Hull FC Hull KR Super League

The head coaches of Hull FC and Hull KR have named their 21-man squads ahead of this Saturday’s derby clash.

Hull FC have lost the other two games between the sides this year, and will be desperate to turn things around in this one.

Simon Grix has made three changes to the side that lost narrowly to Salford Red Devils.

Ben Reynolds dops out as he has left the club, while Zach Jebson misses out also.

Danny Houghton is missing due to a calf injury.

Despite him only being 50/50, Ligi Sao is named, with a last-minute decision expected to be made on the forward’s inclusion.

Meanwhile, coming in to the team are Davy Litten, Harvey Barron and Jack Charles, with a more youthful side looking to bring the spark the side so desperately needs.

Eight players remain out through injury: Joe Cator (back), Jack Ashworth (ankle), Cam Scott (hamstring), Mitieli Vulikijapani (knee), Nick Staveley (knee), Charlie Severs (shoulder), Cobie Wainhouse (knee) and Jed Cartwright (foot).

Hull KR, meanwhile, are looking to finish the Round in second-place, and are currently level on points with St Helens, Warrington Wolves and Salford Red Devils.

Sam Luckley misses out due to a failed Head Injury Assessment, meaning Willie Peters has been forced into his only change after an agonising golden point extra-time defeat to Catalans Dragons last weekend.

However, his replacement is a big boost for the Robins, as Oliver Gildart could make his first appearance since April after returning from a knee injury.

This means he is available alongside Peta Hiku, Tom Opacic and Jack Broadbent at centre.

Still out is James Batchelor.
