Challenge Cup sponsors Ladbrokes make Daryl Powell’s Castleford 3/1 favourites to lift the Challenge Cup at Wembley after their impressive win over St Helens at the weekend . The league leaders were handed a tricky away tie at 2nd placed Hull FC in the 1/4 final draw as they look to win their 1st Challenge Cup for 31 years . They will be full of confidence though after putting over 50 points on Saints .
Their opponents Hull FC are 11/2 to retain the trophy they won at Wembley last August and it is worth noting that they beat the Tigers at the KCOM stadium in Super League only 3 weeks ago .
Joint 2nd favourites are 2014 and 2015 winners Leeds at 4/1 after they were handed a home tie against the only Championship side left in the draw Featherstone , the Rovers are given a 200/1 quote for Wembley glory .Warrington are the other joint favourites at 4/1 , just ahead of Wigan at 9/2 who they play in the tie of the round . Home advantage for the Wolves just makes them slightly shorter in the betting , the tie will be a repeat of the 2011 1/4 final which Wigan won before going onto win at Wembley .
Dark horses are surely Salford , who are 8/1 ,who were handed a home tie against Wakefield . They’ll feel confident of reaching the semi finals and they’ve already beaten Wigan , Warrington , Hull and Castleford this season as they sit 3rd in the table. Mind you Trinity are no push overs this season and have already beaten the Red Devils , they are given a 25/1 quote for Cup glory .
All ties are to be played on the weekend of the 17th and 18th of June .
