Seven players will leave South Sydney Rabbitohs this off-season, the club have confirmed.
James Roberts, Ethan Lowe, Jack Johns, Tom Amone, Cory Denniss, Kurt Dillon and Ky Rodwell have all left the Bunnies with immediate effect.
Roberts is the most high-profile exit with the 27-year-old centre leaving behind a $500,000 contract on compassionate grounds, having endured constant injury and mental health battles since signing for the club.
Despite his exit from Redfern, Souths will still support Roberts in his recovery and have pledged $30,000 towards a 12-month welfare plan.
Meanwhile, experienced back-rower Ethan Lowe has been forced into early retirement due to an ongoing neck problem. He played two seasons for the Rabbitohs after a stellar period with the North Queensland Cowboys.
The other five players released are all on the search for new clubs after Souths boss Wayne Bennett decided to streamline his squad for the 2021 campaign.
