Hull KR Head Coach Tony Smith has said he was disappointed to lose against St Helens on Friday night.

The Robins pushed the champions all the way to Golden Point, but lost to a Theo Fages drop goal.

Smith felt as though there was still plenty to improve for his side.

He said: “We were a bit disappointed. We were disappointed at half time, we could have played better. Our kicking game wasn’t great, our control wasn’t as good as we would have liked.

“I thought we picked it up in the second half, particularly our kicking game. We handled Saints a lot better.

“We are definitely making progress.”
