Sky Sports pundit rejects relegation narrative

Wakefield Trinity may be bottom of the league at present with a four point gap between them and Castleford Tigers and Hull FC above them.

However, Terry O’Connor doesn’t believe there is any need for panic believing a first win of the season is round the corner:

“You have to credit how well Wakefield have played in this second half, they have put in so much effort.

“If they play like this every week a win is round the corner. They just have to apply themselves and listen to what the coach is saying to them.

“The season isn’t over yet.”

However, Jon Wells however believes there is cause for concern for the West Yorkshire side:

“No I don’t think it is because of how well Leigh Leopards have started to life in Super League they have put the cat amongst the pigeons.

“Wakefield certainly won’t have been expecting to trouble the Grand Final dressing rooms at the end of the year but they would have been going ‘we have Leigh Leopards and history tells us the side who goes up goes straight back down.’

“That’s not happened.”

Leigh take on Salford Red Devils on Saturday on Sky Sports.

Hull FC, who are also at the bottom, are taking on Hull KR in the derby today.
