Sky Sports pundit questions crucial decision that went against Leigh Leopards

Leigh Leopards were left aggrieved by some decisions against the Leeds Rhinos as they threw away a 16-0 lead to lose to the Rhinos 22-16.

Among the calls that Leigh fans were left complaining about were the two no tries that could gave seen their lead extended to 28-0.

Umyla Hanley put a toe in touch in the start of the second half when trying to grab his second of the night but the more contentious call was the disallowing of Tom Amone’s try for double movement.

Speaking on Sky Sports, Kyle Amor wasn’t so sure that Amone’s arm had touched the deck and been propelled in a second movement.

He said: “I’m not so sure. That’s a try for me. Maybe on the other side he touches the deck.”

Jamie Jones-Buchanan has his say on Leigh Leopards

Before the game, speaking on Sky Sports, Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Jones-Buchanan had his say on the Leigh Leopards and was somewhat concerned for them.

He said: “They looked a little bit entitled for me, lacked a little bit of discipline, but a lot of their players who have brought that punch, that stone, he’s talking about the formula that’s all get to a final, I’ve met the players last year I just thought they looked a little bit over entitled but as they settle into it this that will fade.

“I love the way they went about the business against St. Helens I thought they were right in the game to the back end.”

He added: “They’ve played a heck of a lot of games, those league players, because they’re the small sport, it paid dividends for them because they were having that consistency, playing together, getting that synchronicity and synergy.

“Back end of the year though, it takes its toll. We’re in a really good facility here and I’m just looking round now at some of the three G pitches, any Super League club, I’ve loved the Leigh Sports Village, but when you’re playing and training on great facilities like this, when you go into some of the ground where it’s been heavy on the foot, when you go into some of the ground where it’s been heavy on the foot, you know some of those injuries might come.”
