Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin gives honest verdict on Hull FC

Jon Wilkin

Former St Helens forward Jon Wilkin was on the Sky Sports punditry team last night as Hull FC smashed the Leeds Rhinos.

Whilst the Black and Whites overcame the Rhinos with ease, by 31-10, Wilkin was critical of the consistency shown by Brett Hodgson’s men this season.

“Hull are inconsistent, you think you’re going to get diamonds and you get rocks and then you think you’re going to get rocks, you get diamonds,” Wilkin said live on Sky Sports.

“Hull fans will be annoyed with their 6 out of ten one week and then a ten out of ten the next.

“You talk about inconsistency and where it comes from but conceding 12 penalties on average a game that’s just too many.”

FC enjoyed a Jake Connor masterclass as the fullback registered two tries and ran rings around the Rhinos throughout the night.

“I’m just happy to get the win it was a difficult win after the Cas game,” Connor said live on Sky Sports after the game.

“It was pretty disappointing but we had to prove something to ourselves in getting that consistency, but the games we have won we have been outstanding.

“I just focus on the game and focus on playing well, I had a good game at Salford and dropped off a bit against Castleford, but I’ve put my head down and focused on the Leeds game.”
