Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin gives damning statement on Warrington Wolves

Warrington Wolves went down 40-4 at home to Leeds Rhinos in what proved to be a disastrous evening for the Cheshire club.

They couldn’t have started any brighter with Daryl Powell’s men making two blistering breaks before falling 4-0 behind. They did draw level but a scoring flurry from Leeds saw them notch 14 unanswered points before the break and another 20 after it to register an absolute hammering.

And, for Sky Sports pundit Jon Wilkin, he could sense the angst from the crowd at the Halliwell Jones.

“He will have been shocked about where that came from,” Wilkin said.

“You can feel the vitriol coming from the crowd and it’s almost tangible.

“I just don’t think they know where they are, I don’t think they know where they are going.

“When everything is going wrong, the only thing you can do is turn frustration into excitement.”

Wilkin also said that Warrington’s place in the Super League table does not lie.

“Warrington are playing like they are in the league at the minute – we look at paper and how they are resourced and say that’s not right, but the table doesn’t lie.

“They regressed, this constant flip flopping between good and bad is a symptom of a poorly-performing team – you can’t prepare to play well because you’re not sure what you will dish out.”
