Last night, St Helens were able to overcome Warrington Wolves by the skin of their teeth in a 12-10 victory.
Reigning champions Saints were made to work incredibly hard for the win and, if the bounce of a ball had been different, then Warrington may well have come away with the two points.
As it was, the Wolves just couldn’t claw back a two-point deficit as Saints’ stubborn and steely defence was able to keep out Daryl Powell’s men.
In the analysis following the game, Sky Sports pundit Jon Wells identified a weakness in the St Helens side and more importantly from centre Konrad Hurrell.
“He flies in and leaves some space on the outside,” Wells said.
“I’m sure Warrington looked at that in the build up to that game and they have exploited it.”
Hurrell has been a key figure for Saints in 2022 after moving from Leeds Rhinos ahead of this season.
However, the Tongan international only penned a one-year deal which has left his future beyond 2022 up in the air.
A move back to the NRL with new side the Dolphins has been touted, but Hurrell had previously outlined his wish to stay at the Totally Wicked Stadium for 2023 and beyond.
