Sky Sports pundit Brian Carney claims there is ‘unrest’ in Warrington Wolves dressing room

Warrington Wolves put in a great performance at the Halliwell Jones Stadium last night to go down just 12-10 to reigning champions St Helens.

In what head coach Daryl Powell labelled as ‘the best performance of the season’, the Wolves scored the only try of the second-half and came within a whisker of winning the game towards the back end.

However, Saints clung on for a priceless two points.

Warrington’s bad form has been well documented in 2022 with just five wins from 13 games not a return that the club has come to expect.

And, Sky Sports pundit Brian Carney claimed, in the Sky Sports studio, that there has been unrest in the dressing room with Powell wanting to stamp his own mark on the squad and club.

“There are rumours that there is unrest in the dressing room but Daryl Powell is going nowhere so it’s up the players to either shape up or ship out,” Carney said.

“There are rumours that’s what will happen and that there will be cleavers taken to this squad.”

Warrington have already been linked with the likes of Canterbury Bulldogs’ Matt Dufty and Paul Vaughan as well as Wests Tigers prop Thomas Mikaele and Catalans Dragons duo Gil Dudson and Sam Kasiano as Powell looks to change the Wire team.
