Sky Sports pull Toronto v York match

Toronto Wolfpack League

Sky Sports will no longer be showing this Saturday’s Championship top of the table clash between Toronto and York.

The City Knights announced the news in a statement earlier, apologising to fans who will now be unable to watch their team face the Wolfpack in Canada on television.

The club had also planned a viewing party at York St John Students’ Union which will now be unable to go ahead.

The statement read: “The club are obviously disappointed at this news and apologise to our loyal fans.

“Anyone who had bought tickets for the event is able to get a full refund from either the club office or in the club shop at the Featherstone Rovers match on August 17.”

This is the third time a Toronto game has been pulled by Sky Sports, after their games with Halifax and Toulouse earlier in the season were not shown.

Their upcoming matches with Barrow and Halifax will also no be broadcast as they clash with Catalans home games.

Sky Sports and the RFL are yet to comment on the game being pulled.
