Sky pundits says Super League side won’t get to the Grand Final unless they change this

There has been a lot of talk about Leeds Rhinos in recent weeks after their inconsistency to start the season going from brilliant performances to lukewarm displays.

Despite this Sky Sports pundit Phil Clarke has underlined that that the style of Leeds’ play, which is perhaps one of the reasons for the Rhinos’ inconsistency, is a reason he likes watching them play.

He said: “The variety in the way Leeds play certainly has me more interested in watching them play.”

This led Terry O’Connor to add: “This is the way Rohan Smith wants to play. He said in a press conference in pre-season that he would be committed to short kick-offs and drop outs.”

However, O’Connor is not convinced highlighting a major concern he has for the Rhinos.

He said that the fact Leeds have been losing close games is a concern that they will need to address if they want to reach the Grand Final or the Challenge Cup Final.

O’Connor said: “Losing three games by eight points or less is not good. The teams that get to Grand Finals and Cup Finals they win those games, so that will be a concern for Leeds.”

An interesting assessment of a side who made it to the Grand Final last year.

The Rhinos take on Huddersfield Giants this week.
