Sky pundits predicting huge shock tonight

Tonight we see Wigan Warriors, Warrington Wolves, Hull KR and Leigh Leopards all playing in crucial games to determine play off spots.

In the biggest game, Wigan head over to Leigh knowing a win is needed to secure the League Leaders’ Shield. St Helens who host Hull FC and Catalans Dragons who are away at Salford Red Devils are both chasing Wigan but also vying for the final semi-final spot.

Leigh meanwhile are hoping to secure fourth and a home play off game against Hull KR who were attempting to sneak ahead of them with a win over Wakefield Trinity.

Warrington meanwhile needed a win over Huddersfield Giants to secure a play off spot knowing that a Salford win if they lose could see them miss out on the play.

Both Phil Clarke and Jamie Jones-Buchanan have predicted Warrington to lose as has Jon Wilkin.

He said of Huddersfield Giants vs Warrington Wolves: “If you know anything about Huddersfield, there’s a player in that team called Jake Connor; and if I was Jake Connor I would be so excited to have a moment.

“He’s had an indifferent year, Huddersfield have been dire at stages during the season, but you wouldn’t back against them putting one on Warrington.

“It’s what have Warrington got left; now whether Paul Vaughan plays or not, they’re going to have to find something just to get them into the playoffs, then once they’re in the playoffs who knows; but I fancy Huddersfield.

“I just think Jake Connor and all of those Huddersfield players, who have had such a disappointing year, who have got the holidays booked in Mexico, the speedos are packed, they’re ready to drink as many mojitos as physically possible, but wait, there’s just one more game and they could knock Warrington out of the play-offs and I think they’ll be excited to do that.

“So for Salford it’s do or die for them and I’m backing Salford. I think there’s a huge, huge incentive for them to be brilliant. I know Steve McNamara and Catalan will be interested in getting that top spot but I think Wigan have got that stitched up and it’s going to be an incredible game.”
