Many were of course impressed by Hull KR star Jordan Abdull against Leeds Rhinos as he kicked them to death.
Thus Jon Wilkin said of the halfback: “Jordan Abdull has the most ferocious kicking game in Super League.
“The best attacking kicking game in Super League.”
Jon Wells added: “It is the variety of kicks as well, he can kick it from the side of the foot, kick it flat, kick a 40/20.”
He believes that Abdull and Mikey Lewis is the perfect halfback pairing:
“I think their perfect halfback partnership is Abdull and Mikey Lewis, I do think they are perfect for each other.
“His kicking game is special.”
However, he believes the Robins are a work in progress:
“On the whole they are a work in progress. They changed their style especially in defence.
“They started the season with two impressive wins against Wigan and Salford who many are expecting to go deep into the play-offs.
“They have faltered since then however.”
“What I want to see is, they are a club where there is a good feeling off the field, they now need a team that is steely and resilient on the field that can match that good feeling.
“They have also been known as a flamboyant team but now they have a bit more steel to them under Willie Peters after some defensive changes.
“Catalans are the only team to blow them away.”
