All Super League games on TV this week and launch of the Women’s 2023 season

Following a weekend of Challenge Cup fixtures both the Championship and League One return to the schedule this week but it’s Super League’s ‘Rivals Round’ that is set to be the most anticipated rugby league this week.

Round eight sees all 12 teams in action and all six of those games televised on Sky Sports for a bumper weekend of rugby league, not to mention the continued coverage of the NRL which heads into round six.

Thursday 6th April

Melbourne Storm vs Sydney Roosters: 10:50am on Sky Sports Arena
Castleford Tigers vs Wakefield Trinity: 8:00pm on Sky Sports Arena

The week of rugby league kicks off on Thursday as always and sees two 2022 NRL playoff sides face each other, with Victor Radley in action for the visiting Roosters on their trip to Melbourne. As for Super League it’s a bottom of the table clash as winless Wakefield travel to the Jungle to take on coach-less Castleford, ‘rivals round’ starting off with a bang.

Friday 7th April

Hull FC vs Hull KR: 12:30pm on Sky Sports Arena
Wigan Warriors vs St Helens: 3:00pm on Sky Sports Main Event

On Good Friday Sky forgo their NRL coverage and for good reasons as they serve up two of the biggest fixtures in the calendar. The Hull derby comes first just after midday with Tony Smith set to face Rovers for the first time since switching to the Black and Whites. That’s followed up by the eponymous Good Friday derby with Wigan hosting St Helens, both sides looking to push closer to the early leaders Warrington. Both games are expected to record 20,000 plus in attendance on an amazing Good Friday for Super League fans.

Saturday 8th April

Penrith Panthers vs Manly Sea Eagles: 8:30am on Sky Sports Arena
Salford Red Devils vs Leigh Leopards: 2:30pm on Sky Sports Arena
Catalans Dragons vs Warrington Wolves: 5:00pm on Sky Sports Arena

It’s rare these days that we get Super League on Saturday’s but following two weeks of Channel 4 coverage, this weekend we’re treated to Sky offering up two Super League matches. They also are broadcasting reigning NRL premiers Penrith who will be looking to solidify their 53 point win last week when they face Manly this week. As for Super League Salford host Leigh with both sides stinging off the back of a loss, before first faces second down in France. Warrington take their unbeaten record to Perpignan for the Saturday tea-time game.

Sunday 9th April

Newcastle Knights vs NZ Warriors: 9:15am on Sky Sports Arena
Leeds Rhinos vs York Valkyrie: 3:30pm on Sky Sports Action
Leeds Rhinos vs Huddersfield Giants: 6:00pm on Sky Sports Action

Sunday kicks off with Jackson Hastings and Dom Young representing Newcastle Knights against the Warriors, but it’s the English action that steals the day. The Women’s Super League launches with a repeat of the 2022 Grand Final as Leeds Rhinos host York Valkyrie at Headingley, before Rohan Smith’s men take on Huddersfield to round off the Super League action.

Monday 10th April

Halifax Panthers vs Bradford Bulls: 7:45pm on Viaplay Sports

Championship action returns this week and it returns to our screens too in the form of a West Yorkshire derby with Halifax hosting Bradford. Both teams have progressed in the Challenge Cup and they sit fifth and sixth in the league respectively, suggesting it will be a brilliant game to round off this bumper week of rugby league.
