Last week saw a feast of Rugby League play out on our screens, and this week is no different as there are six games to tantalise our taste buds. In Australia, all eyes will be focused on the State of Origin game; however closer to home we see two massive games in the race for the top six.
Here’s how you can catch all the action this week:
Wednesday 12th July
New South Wales vs Queensland-11:05am Sky Sports Main Event
With the series already decided, Queensland come to the Accor Stadium looking to make it a clean sweep over their biggest rivals. The first two matches have been belters, and there’s no reason Origin Three won’t be another all time classic.
Thursday 13th July
St Helens vs Catalans Dragons-8:00pm Sky Sports Main Event
The Super League action kicks off on Thursday night as the league leaders visit the defending champions. Catalans will be looking to put more breathing room between themselves and the chasing pack, but the Saints will close the gap to just two points with a win. It promises to be a great watch to kick off the Super League action this week.
Friday 14th July
Wigan Warriors vs Warrington Wolves-8:00pm Sky Sports Main Event
Another massive game in the playoff fight sees Wigan take on Warrington at the DW. Wire have been in poor form of late, but the opportunity to avenge their Challenge Cup defeat at the hands of the Cherry and Whites could be the prompt Darryl Powell’s side need to reignite their season. Wigan will also be out to write some wrongs after their shock defeat at Belle Vue, so this should be a firecracker to kickstart the weekend.
Saturday 15th July
Sydney Roosters v Melbourne Storm-10:35am Sky Sports Arena
On Saturday morning, the action goes down under as the Roosters take on the Storm. The Roosters have struggled this season, but could they turn a corner this weekend against Melbourne? The Storm will be wanting to pull level on points with the Panthers and the Broncos at the top of the tree, and will be relishing the opportunity to do this against the Roosters.
Sunday 16th July
Dolphins v Penrith Panthers-7:05am Sky Sports Main Event
Parramatta Eels v Gold Coast Titans-9:15am Sky Sports Arena
Two NRL games wrap up the weekends action. First we travel to Brisbane as the Dolphins take on the NRL premiers. The Dolphins have made a great start to life in the competition and a win could see them move closer to the top eight, however the Panthers will want a win to get some breathing room at the top.
Straight after, the Eels welcome the Titans to the Parramatta Stadium, who will be looking to leapfrog the Warriors and cement themselves in the top eight. The Titans also will be aiming for a spot in the finals, and a win on Sunday could see them overtake their opponents in the table.
