Sean Long has suggested that there are more signings to come as the former Leeds Rhinos assistant looks to guide Featherstone Rovers to Super League for the first time after routinely coming short.
On Fev’s Twitter page, the former St Helens, Hull FC and Wigan Warriors halfback said: “I believe we’ve got a f***ing great squad, we’ve added to the squad and we’re gonna add even more as well.”
It comes after the club signed the likes of Salford Red Devils star Elijah Taylor and former Wigan Warriors man Chris Hankinson, but who else could the Rovers sign?
Tony Gigot
According to the Game Caller, 2018 Lance Todd Trophy winner Tony Gigot could leave France to join Featherstone Rovers and hope to beat former club Toulouse Olympique to Super League promotion. There has been plenty of debate over whether we will see Gigot make the switch reported by the Game Caller.
Patrick Mago
He also claimed that Wigan Warriors prop Patrick Mago will make the move to Post Office Road after just one year at the DW Stadium winning the Challenge Cup Final. He would provide great impact off the bench.
Featherstone Rovers have secured the services of Tony Gigot and Patrick Mago for next year. Smart business by new head coach Sean Long.

Caleb Aekins
After helping Leigh Leopards to promotion scoring tries for fun, Aekins is one of the overseas players the club has had to let go of due to the quota rules with the club signing Leeds Rhinos’ Zak Hardaker to fill the void. He has been linked with a move to Featherstone as he looks for a new club.
Matty Russell
Matty Russell wants to join another Super League club in 2023, but with most clubs spent up to the cap, Russell may have to join a top Championship side rather than Super League. He has suffered relegation in 2021 and 2022.
Brandon Wakeham
The Fijian halfback was one of the most talked about free agents in the Rugby League World Cup and really caught the eye. After the loss of Ryley Jacks to Australia and Morgan Smith to Wakefield Trinity, a new halfback may be on the top of Long’s list.
Luke Gale
Lastly, former Man of Steel with Castleford Tigers and former Leeds Rhinos skipper and Hull FC man Luke Gale is still looking for a club. He is not rushing the decision but with a tremendous legacy in West Yorkshire, the Rovers could look to him to take them to Super League.
