Six classic Magic Weekend matches to be shown on Sky Sports this weekend

Sky Sports are showing six classic Magic Weekend games in full over the weekend in the absence of this year’s event after it was postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Magic Weekend 2020 was due to take place at Newcastle’s St James’ Park over the course of Saturday and Sunday, however it was confirmed in April that it will be pushed back until later in the year, as the sport now enters its 10th week of suspension.

To compensate for the lack of live action, Sky Sports will show six full classic Magic Weekend fixtures from the past 13 years, beginning on Saturday with 2012’s tight contest between Salford and Huddersfield.

Also among the showings is the showpiece clash from the inaugural 2007 event at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, where Jordan Tansey’s controversial late try saw Leeds beat Bradford 42-38 on the hooter.

If you can’t wait until Saturday for your rugby league fix, there’s also full coverage of the 2017 playoff semi-final clash between Castleford and St Helens on Friday at 8pm.
