With nine rounds of Super League action remaining, there’s still so much to play for across the competition.
The battle for the League Leaders’ Shield looked done and dusted at one point, but Hull KR losing their last two games has certainly breathed new life into the race for top spot. It might not be just a two horse race, either. St Helens, Leigh Leopards and Leeds Rhinos have put it together enough to put pressure on those above them and over the remaining couple of months, they’ll fancy their chances of at least gate-crashing the top two.
The battle for sixth spot intrigues too, with Hull FC, Wakefield Trinity and Warrington Wolves pushing for that final play-off place.
Indeed, we’re all set for a blockbuster finish to the 2025 regular season and with that in mind, we’ve dug out the crystal ball to make some bold predictions about what might be to come.
Warrington to make play-offs
We’ll start with a prediction that would have looked like sheer lunacy just a few weeks ago. However, since beating Hull FC at the end of June, Warrington have won three on the spin and moved up to within a point of the play-offs.
Performances haven’t always been there and they needed a piece of last minute magic to see off Catalans Dragons at the weekend, but they’re building a head of steam and with Danny Walker closing in a return, they’ll have their first choice spine available at just the right time.
Warrington really should be beating Castleford this weekend and with the remainder of the bottom three still to play, they have a good opportunity. Eyes will be on that trip to Hull FC on September 13th, though, which could well be a shootout for a play-off spot.

Feldt to chase down Field
Jai Field currently leads the try scoring charts with 18 efforts to his name already this season. He has three more than his nearest competition in Mikey Lewis and five more than Lewis Martin and Tom Davies who are in joint-third.
However, Kyle Feldt may well be the man he is most worried about, with the Saints winger scoring 12 tries in just nine outings prior to last night’s clash with Leigh Leopards. He’s spent a chunk of the season out with injury but he’s fit now and he’ll be spearheading St Helens’ push for glory.
If he can stay fit and build on what we have seen from him so far, he could end up pushing Field close at the very least.
Hull to find home form
The Black and Whites claimed their first home win in almost a year last time out against Wakefield Trinity and with six of their last nine games due to be played at the MKM Stadium, they have the opportunity to build on that.
Huddersfield Giants and Salford Red Devils are next to travel to west Hull and FC will be favourites there. And, with John Asiata and Will Pryce to come back in, they might just find themselves being a force to be reckoned with late on. Whether they’ll have enough to claim a top six spot in Super League remains to be seen though.
Wigan for League Leaders’
Wigan came good in the second half against Huddersfield Giants last time out to show they can play without Bevan French and they’ll fancy their chances of kicking on against the Black and Whites on Saturday.
They’ll also have that clash with Hull KR on August 15 ringed on the calendar as the moment they can send a clear message to the current league leaders. Wigan know how to time their run and if they can leave their recent blip in form behind them, they’ll be there to take advantage should KR falter.
Leeds to do the double over KR
Leeds Rhinos stunned Hull KR earlier this month at Craven Park and they did so after pushing the Robins all the way at Headingley in April. The two sides go head to head once more on August 21 in West Yorkshire and on current form, it really could go either way.
KR’s clash with Wigan the week before will surely have an impact on this one, whether they win or lose. And, with so much focus on that contest, it wouldn’t necessarily be a surprise if KR were to struggle against Leeds.
Lam to beat Hastings
Prior to the clash with Saints on Thursday night, Lachlan Lam had 27 try assists to his name with another three coming last week against Hull KR. That puts him seven clear at the top of the assist charts and it seems he is closing in on a record.
Jackson Hastings holds the record for the most try assists in a Super League season, with Opta claiming he managed 38 during the 2019 season with Salford Red Devils. Lam is well on his way to beating that tally and if he carries on as he is, he might even smash 40.
