Rugby league legend Sir Kevin Sinfield is set to embark on his seventh and final annual fundraising epic this Sunday morning, taking on an extraordinary route that visits every English Betfred Super League ground.
Titled ‘7 in 7: The Grand Finale’, the week-long challenge will see Sinfield and his dedicated team run an ultra-marathon every day for seven consecutive days, covering over 230 miles across Yorkshire and the North West.
Since launching the annual challenge in 2020, Sinfield and his team have raised over £11 million for the MND community.
Six vital charities will benefit once again from this year’s fundraising efforts: the MND Association, Leeds Hospitals Charity, My Name5 Doddie Foundation, Darby Rimmer Foundation, MND Scotland, and the Irish MND Association.
The epic journey concludes on the biggest stage of all at Old Trafford, a venue where Sinfield and the late Rob Burrow won seven Grand Finals together during their glittering careers at Leeds Rhinos.
In a fitting tribute, Sinfield will carry the official match ball directly onto the pitch ahead of kick-off, honouring Burrow’s memory at the very match where the Player of the Match is awarded the Rob Burrow Trophy.
