Signings ‘imminent’ at Championship club with new man set to make mark

Halifax Panthers are on the verge of adding some new recruits to their squad as they continue their preparations for the 2025 Championship season. That’s according to head coach Kyle Eastmond who has been appointed by the West Yorkshire club over the off-season.

The Panthers have already backed Eastmond with a number of new signings in time for the start of pre-season training, with a raft of new players arriving at the club. Owen Restall, Ronan Dixon and Brad Graham have all joined from relegated outfit Dewsbury Rams.

Jack Hansen has made the switch from Sheffield Eagles, too, while Owen McCarron has signed from Whitehaven and Charlie Graham has made last season’s loan from Keighley Cougars permanent.

However, as Fax ready themselves for their opening friendly against Warrington Wolves at The Shay on January 12th, more recruits are seemingly on the way.

“We’ve got our 20 or 21 players now on board which I ‘m comfortable with and happy with,” Eastmond said in a video posted on Halifax Panthers’ X. “We’ve got some more players that hopefully imminently will be on board with us as well. It bolsters our squad as we just keep working hard together as a unit and let’s see where we go.”

On how the new recruits Halifax have announced so far have settled in, Eastmond added: “Really good, there’s some good characters in there. The lads have really welcomed them, the existing players, and the lads coming in, I’m sure they feel welcomed. They’ve been working really hard and I’m looking forward to carrying on working with them.”

Eastmond penned a three-year deal with the club in October, replacing Liam Finn at Fax and while he hasn’t taken charge of a game yet, he is optimistic about the road ahead.

“It’s been a good few weeks, I’ve settled in pretty well,” he added. We’re in week three now and it’s been good. The players have been receptive and they’re working hard so yeah, good start.

“It’s building those relationships and putting the hard work in. You can’t hide away from that’s what is needed at this time of year. We’ve done plenty of hard work, plenty of skill work and their building them relationships. The lads are doing well, they’re working hard and we’ve got to keep going now until Christmas.”
