Sheffield Eagles pair given FOUR-MATCH bans following Halifax Panthers defeat

Joel Farrell and Mikey Wood of Sheffield Eagles were each suspended for four matches after being found guilty of punching in their team’s Betfred Championship defeat at Halifax Panthers on May 15.

Farrell was found guilty of a Grade D charge, and fined £250 in addition to the four-match suspension.

Wood successfully challenged the grading of a Grade F punching charge, so he received the same punishment – a £250 fine and a four-match ban – after also being found guilty of Grade D punching.

Billy Gaylor of Keighley Cougars pleaded guilty to a charge of Other Contrary Behaviour in the Betfred League One fixture against Rochdale Hornets on May 15, but successfully challenged the grading – a charge of Grade B which would have carried a one-match suspension was reduced to Grade A, meaning the player will not be suspended. He has been fined £75.
