Shaun Wane reveals selection plan for France as he confirmed Wigan Warriors and Leeds Rhinos men will feature

Plenty of Shaun Wane’s big calls were vindicated yesterday as England beat Samoa in the opening game of the World Cup.

England went into the game as underdogs against a side fancied to make it to the World Cup Final, but Wane’s men put 60 points on Samoa with a brilliant performance as the ex-Wigan boss proved he made the right decision with some of the calls he made.

In doing so, he left plenty of big names out of the side such as Ryan Hall and Dream Team prop Mikolaj Oledzki with the likes of Dom Young and Chris Hill preferred.

However, all those who didn’t play against Samoa will play against France next week at Bolton as Wane confirmed after yesterday’s game against Samoa name dropping the likes of Oledzki, Salford’s Marc Sneyd and even John Bateman who will return from suspension: “We’ve no injuries, and the players that didn’t play today will play against France and that will be a strong team.

“It was a tough week for me leaving those players out because a few of those were very tough to leave out. We have people like Mikolaj Oledzki, John Bateman, Marc Sneyd and Andy Ackers coming back.

“It will be a strong team and all of them will play.”

This means we will see Ryan Hall on the wing, Marc Senyd in the halves, Oledzki at prop with Ackers at hooker.

Meanwhile, Joe Batchelor and Kai Pearce-Paul will come into the side jostling for a place in the 13 alongside John Bateman.
