Sensational ground move close to being finalised

London Broncos are said to be finalising their deal to move to Plough Lane – the home of AFC Wimbledon.

The 9,300-capacity home of League One side AFC Wimbledon was designed to be a multi-sport venue and looks to be a much better alternative than their current home.

Rugby union club Ealing Trailfinders’ Vallis Way is where the Broncos reside at present, with London’s last home game coming on Sunday 12 September against second-placed Featherstone Rovers.

London’s move to Plough Lane – which is less than ten miles away from Vallis Way – has already been granted by Merton Council back in mid-July with all parties thrashing out the remaining issues before the Broncos up sticks.

The ground-share agreement will run for a decade – with clauses included for both London and Wimbledon – and could be worth up to £500,000 a year for the Dons, though that would be rely on the Broncos being in Super League
